About the Role

We are looking for a Security Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with engineering and research teams to design tools, simulate attack chains, and enhance security through offensive testing. This is your chance to learn by doing and contribute meaningfully to a powerful security product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve tooling for automated threat emulation
  • Write Python, Go, or Bash scripts to simulate cyberattacks
  • Convert CVEs and threat intelligence reports into actionable attack simulations
  • Build and maintain modules for FourCore’s internal threat engine
  • Test, debug, and enhance detection workflows and threat responses
  • Document research findings and contribute to internal security tooling and processes

Day-to-Day Tasks

  • Track emerging threat actors and analyze their TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures)
  • Collect and analyze malicious payloads and exploit scripts
  • Emulate adversary techniques such as lateral movement and privilege escalation
  • Simulate adversarial behavior in controlled environments
  • Tune detection mechanisms using custom simulations
  • Run offensive experiments and log findings

What We’re Looking For

  • Basic knowledge of Windows, Linux, and OS internals
  • Interest or experience in offensive security, malware analysis, or red teaming
  • Strong scripting/programming foundation (Go preferred, Python/Bash acceptable)
  • Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, Nmap, IDA Pro, Metasploit, Burp Suite
  • Awareness of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat modeling
  • Curiosity, independence, and a hacker mindset

You’re a Great Fit If You

  • Enjoy coding and automating processes in Python, Go, or Bash
  • Have worked on personal security projects, CTFs, or open-source tools
  • Understand how exploits work and like simulating adversary actions
  • Can clearly explain technical concepts, written or verbal
  • Like breaking things to understand and fix them

How to Apply

We love seeing what you’ve built or broken! Share your GitHub, blog, write-ups from CTFs, or any other project that showcases your skills and passion for security.
